Q1: How big is the Garbage? Are they small like gravel? As large as a soda can? Or is it as big as a whole chunk of tire? Could you provide a picture of the garbage in place?

A1: Garbage will be a variety of items varying in size, weight, friction, and restitution. The intent of the garbage being unspecified is to make the challenge of crossing the field difficult to anticipate. Most of the garbage will be relatively large in size, but smaller than an average car tire. The landfill also might be elevated, but if so it will be less than 1" from the field. Please keep in mind that the garbage is intended to be a hindrance to travel across the field, but not to be impassible by a well designed robot.

Q2: How high is the lower edge of the ramp?

A2: The lower edge of the ramp will be within 1" of the field surface. Our intent is to make it as close to field level as possible, but due to limited manufacturing ability, the degree to which we can create a smooth transition from floor to tire surface is limited.
